Turkey Salisbury Steaks and Mushroom Gravy

Ingredients Salisbury Steaks

·         1 pound lean ground turkey

·         1 garlic clove minced

·         1 Tbsp. ketchup

·         1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

·         ½ cup breadcrumbs

·         2-3 Tbsp. oil

Ingredients Mushroom Gravy

·         2 Tbsp. unsalted butter

·         1 medium onion sliced (red, yellow or white onion)

·         8oz. white button mushrooms sliced about ¼ in. thick

·         2 Tbsp. flour

·         2 C. chicken broth

·         1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

1.       Add ground turkey, garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and bread crumbs to a large bowl.

Mix together until all ingredients are well combined.

2.       Separate the ground turkey mixture into six patties. Shape each patty into an oval shape. Place the patties on a plate.

3.       Heat oil in a large deep nonstick skillet over medium high heat. When the oil is hot add your turkey patties. Cook patties for about 2-3 min per side or until browned on both sides.

4.       Remove skillet from the heat and lower the burner to medium –low .Remove the patties and place them on a plate.

5.       Drain the excess oil but do not wash or wipe the skillet. Place back over medium-low heat, and add butter .When the butter is melted and foamy add your onions and mushrooms. Cook gently for 4-5 min stirring frequently.

6.       Mix together the Worcestershire sauce and chicken broth. Raise the heat to medium and add the chicken broth and Worcestershire sauce mixture. Stir while gently scraping the bottom as you go.

7.       When the sauce is simmering add you patties.

8.       Bring the liquid back up to simmer about 1 to2 min , lower the heat to medium low  cover and continue to simmer for about 20 min .flip the patties at least two times during this time.
